Welcome to BlackStar Studio, USA! ~Neil Gregory-Guitar Instructor
I am an internationally acclaimed, degreed, classical guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and composer. My primary focus is Classical Guitar, and Electric Guitar Performance(metal/blues/rock styles).
I have attended three Major universities on scholarship, and performed in over 30 MasterClasses with the greatest players from all foreign nations. Now, I perform and teach primarily in Lake and McHenry Counties, between Fox Lake/Spring Grove/Antioch, Illnois, 60081.
I Relocated to the Midwest USA, via Key West, Orlando, Daytona, Pueblo, and Denver- in 2012.
My current goal is to become a full-time teaching/performing/community outreach volunteer.
Since 1999, I have primarily performed at weddings, corporate events, libraries, and retirement homes around the world—- eking out a very meager and humble living indeed. I have had no other career.
As of Spring 2018 I am performing a new custom guitar program with added SOLO arrangements of beloved Beatles’, Bowie, The Doors, Elton John, Elvis, Queen, and John Lennon’s music. NO LOOPERS or CHEATING, like most musicians rely upon– 100% Unique arrangements of great music with vocals and bass integrated into the guitar parts..
I’ve had the good fortune of studying classical music with the world’s most eminent artists-and have performed at numerous music festivals, guitar competitions, and universities throughout North America.
I’ve also performed with orchestras, chamber ensembles, bands, various duos, in rock/metal bands, and as a “street” musician. My “guitar” style nowadays is very unique (to say the least) and my artistic temperament has been gained through a life of adventure, travel, exploration, and experiences.
I hope to offer my services to local organizations and make classical/acoustic music more accesible for performers and audiences in the area.

I’ve received scholarships from every school I’ve attended: MCC, The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Stetson University(BM ~classical guitar performance-cum laude), and Denver University in 2006-7(graduate studies with reknowned Maestro Ricardo Iznaola)
I’ve also been very fortunate to have been invited to perform in around 3 dozen public and private masterclasses for the worlds’ greatest maestros. I’ve worked as a guitar teacher for the Stetson University Community School of the Arts, ran a small studio in Cherry Creek, Colorado, and now teach privately.
